A Fresh Start
When you shop some place, it should feel good. That's what I wanted to create when I left my 15 year career in higher education to pursue my dream of running my own business. And I knew my new business had to be about my passion - delicious healthful food.
Great Harvest was the perfect fit for us. While the Great Harvest franchise would provide us with the help we needed in a field we had never worked in, it emphasized owner generosity, individuality, great food, and enjoying life. We would be able to operate a bakery in a way that meets our needs and the needs of our community. Our Champaign Great Harvest has been open, serving up hot, fresh out of the oven, made from scratch, breads and sweets for seven years now. You'll find me (with my hands in the dough) in the bakery on most days. You can also say "hey" to Rick at the Farmers Market in Urbana on Saturdays. Deb Clark is our lovely and very apt manager (2nd from left in the picture).
